Hello from FL
Hello all!
Collected as a kid and then again for a few years in my 20's. Now in 50's and it grabbed me again. Hope to learn what's new and to better figure out this grading craze.
Can anyone point me to a post regarding if I should open a factory encapsulated card to grade or leave it alone?
Thanks!

If it's a modern card encapsulated and labelled by the manufacturer there is really no benefit to having it graded. Grading serves 2 distinct purposes, authentication and condition. If it's an encapsulated vintage (buyback) card then grading may increase its value. Sharing more info with us would be helpful.

Welcome to SCF Shawn, hope you are enjoying yourself here! I would just let the card be as it is. What card do you have?
